You are welcome to bring your little one to Baby Music at any point in the term, it is a drop-in group so you only pay when you come (at £2.70 per session - includes coffee if you get there in time!)
I run a separate baby session because there are many gentle songs that babies enjoy and toddlers would not keep still for. Stroking and tickling a baby lying down in front of you is a great pleasure but no-one particularly wants their baby run over by an exuberant toddler, so there may be very little music for babies in music groups where older children are present.
These Baby Music sessions are particularly suited for little babies. I generally say 'from two months to too wriggly' but you are welcome to come as soon as you and baby feel able to get out of the house. Very tiny babies are likely to be asleep for the whole session, but I would hope you would get some ideas to use at home when your little one was more alert. For older babies who might be 'too wriggly' it is probably best just to come along to a session and see what goes on. I don't have an upper age limit because babies are all so different.
We will be doing lots of stroking, tickling songs, gentle bouncers and action songs, peekaboos and lullabies. I use a mix of traditional rhymes, which you may need reminding of, and modern songs that may be completely new to you. With plenty of repetition over the term you will get to know them all. We always have some time with the scarves and special baby percussion instruments as well.
